Many towns and cities still have very traditional High Streets, The Shambles in York, Oxford and rural villages are examples of where a traditional style or timber fascia signs are required. Often planning restrictions and conservation areas restrict the use of acrylic and modern materials, these areas demand signs to fit within their historic districts and complement the street scene without compromise.
Here at Spencer Signs we will start by surveying your site, taking notes about the surrounding signs, researching the area and planning guidelines to design a concept that is not detrimental to the area or immediate street scene, which respects any historic elements of buildings. Of course sometimes you may simply want a traditional style with colours and materials to flatter your brand or product.
A traditional style sign is usually a folded aluminium tray that fits on a fascia area which site on a traditional shop front, often this can be embellished with flat cut or built up letters and LED trough light illumination or Halo illuminated letters. Fascia signs are often complemented by adding a hanging sign also using folded trays mounted to an aluminium bracket. In some instances planning requires a timber fascia with a decorative architrave trim or built up and flat cut letters are applied to a traditional shop front fascia which has already been painted.
